Hello !

My name is Vicky Vourvoulakis, I am a paediatric cardiologist who lives and works in Sweden and founder of Gift of Life. I am of Greek origin and since my childhood, volunteer work has been an integral part of my family’s life. As a child, I volunteered at elderly homes and orphanages and participated in volunteer groups with my family, cooking and distributing food and clothes to people in need. 

As an adult, I volunteer whenever possible as a doctor in India. In 2024, I visited Fiji and the Pacific Islands, where I screened and followed up children suffering from congenital heart disease. My desire to help children that are less fortunate led me to establish Gift of Life in 2019 in order to support hospitals in India that offer free heart treatments to children who would otherwise suffer due to their heart conditions. 

Gift of Life is comprised of a small group of loving people whose aim is to spread the joy and love that comes when helping the less fortunate. We have a coordinator working in Greece, a graphic designer in Austria, and a web designer in the Netherlands.  

All administrative costs are sponsored by us as well as well-wishers so every donation we receive goes directly to the hospitals, and our only wish is to do more and more!
